Unique portrait of Romney by couple who bought his Park City, UT home

Unique portrait of Romney by couple who bought his Park City, UT home

Mitt RomneyIt is very rare one gets an inside look at a presidential candidate, especially one coming from people who bought his home in a real estate transaction which included the home and furnishings.

Corinne and Hal Prewitt got to know Mitt Romney long before he was running for President.

They decided to share their firsthand account of their experience and the man they came to know in their interaction with him.

They printed it in an email and on their website.   It is not approved, endorsed or sponsored by the Romney/Ryan campaign.  Their story is not one of politics.

Corinne and Hal Prewitt just wanted to get out what they knew was the true picture of the kind of man Mitt Romney is and the press will not report.

They wanted to add a layer to his identity which is often mischaracterized deliberately as a part of political strategy and is distorted in campaign ads meant to have voters believe Mitt Romney is not of the people and does not understand the everyday American family.

Here is their story.

Ours is a factual story that provides a rare glimpse and insight into the real Mitt Romney.  Does he really relate to the average American?

As President, would he impose his beliefs on others? Is he really Christian?

Growing up in Florida and Pennsylvania, we knew little to nothing of Utah, Mitt Romney, his family or values, beliefs, religion and his capabilities. We were amazed by what we learned.

We are messengers, delivering facts and initially were not Mitt Romney supporters nor anti-Obama. The facts do change who we support. We are not part of any campaign, not Mormon nor religious activists.

We have voted for Democrats and Republicans and believe voters should elect the best person regardless of political party.

When you buy a home and its contents from someone you really learn a lot about their true character, values and beliefs. And rarely does anyone have the opportunity to learn how a politician acts out of the public’s view and when they are not running for office.

Well, this actually happened. When? Only a few years ago, in spring of 2009 when we bought Mitt Romney’s Park City, Utah home.

His family lived in this home for about ten years. Because our purchase included most of the contents, we gained a unique and unusual perspective of him and his family of which most Americans are completely unaware.

What we experienced was not what we expected. Not the stereotypical actions of a millionaire and more importantly not the image most Americans have of Mitt Romney.

The Romney Park City home, which they designed and built, and its contents had much to say. It is located in a public neighborhood and without gates.

Having raised a family of our own, we saw that the home was built with a focus on his family. There are no maid, butler or nanny quarters. Clearly Ann and Mitt raised their kids. No gold faucets, no fancy silverware.

The kitchen was simple and typical of most homes with kids, very much like those in which we were raised. No swimming pool, tennis court or movie theater.

We were struck by the discovery that most of the art, furniture and all the curtains were made in America and many by local craftsmen.

Most of the linens were of good quality but not what is found at very high
end, exclusive stores. The master bedroom pillows had tags from the average American’s most popular discount store.

In the most honored place in the master bedroom hung a painting of Jesus Christ. Most Americans know little about Mormonism and we didn’t either.

The home is beautiful, but far more important and often falsely reported or overlooked are the facts the Romneys selected a public neighborhood and actually chose not to build a truly luxury estate.

It is a home noteworthy not for what they built, but more for what they did not and easily could have. Mitt and his family are much more in-touch with average Americans than many people realize.

They had a home of faith and family just like many of us.

One of the most interesting questions many have asked is, “As president will he impose his beliefs on others?” Many claim that a President Romney would take away rights and impose his beliefs on all Americans.

The Romney home contents gave us insight into this question.

One of the strongest Mormon beliefs is the prohibition against drinking alcohol. We were surprised to find a small supply which we were told was available for guests, not for the family. Mitt Romney had a respect for his guest’s wishes.

By not imposing his beliefs on others even within his own home, then clearly a President Romney would not take away rights and impose his beliefs on all Americans.

Those making such accusations should stop. The facts do not support their claims.

When most of us buy a home, the real estate agent or seller hands over the keys at closing and then as buyers, we are on our own. Not this time.

We met Mitt Romney by himself at the house. He spent as much time as we needed showing us around, answering our questions and explaining how to use and service the home’s equipment.

And when he was done, he gave us his direct contact information should we have problems.

To move, if we can afford the cost, most of us would hire movers with a team of workers. To save money, many of us are the do-it-our-selves types. Which did Mitt Romney do?

Like many of us, on his own he rented a six-wheel truck and moved himself. He drove to the local Home Depot and purchased wood to build whatever he needed for the transport.

Mitt moved his family’s clothes, his family’s photos, his family’s mementos, his grandchildren’s toys. With the help of a friend and family, they loaded the truck.

Then, after answering all our questions Mitt Romney said his goodbyes, climbed into the truck and began the long drive to his new home by himself.

It is amazing what can be learned about someone from observing the smallest details. In the Romney’s family mud room, where the boots and outdoor clothing were stored, we found the Governor’s ski gloves.

One of his son’s apologized for his dad’s lack of concern about his appearance when Mitt went skiing because the gloves would surely be noticed. They were worn out and had holes in the fingers.

Mitt had gone to the garage tool box and wrapped them with duct tape. Thrifty? Yes, and the repair provided an immediate practical solution rather than traveling to the store to buy a new pair.

His indifference to appearance demonstrated his confidence, true character and priorities. Good qualities, but easily misunderstood because they are quite different from those displayed by many famous people and certainly politicians, who highly protect and prize their appearance.

As you have read, our story is not about a wealthy man’s nice home or its beautiful contents. It is about the story they tell and how our experiences with him showed the real Mitt Romney.

How his family truly lived is a real indication of their values and beliefs. Mitt Romney is very different from the man that many of us have been led to believe.

Clearly he is more like most Americans than not. We learned many things about Mitt Romney that contradicted what we have been told.

He is not aloof or out of touch. He is a man of faith, family and American
values. A guy who is well-grounded. It is not beneath him to roll up his shirt-sleeves and get the job done.

The fact that he has allowed this to be kept so very private is a true testament to his character and shows how different he is from many other politicians.

Hi I was wondering if your any relation to Scott Prewitt he is a race car driver and I saw him a number of times on TV. Never in person that was a wish of mine but I am to old now to do anything like that.. Thank you for your sharing of this event in your life. It made me smile reading this

  • Stack

We all have alot more in common than we do different. This is a side of Mr Romney that needs to be noted in the media and not the trash they are saying at present.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1221567591 Joyce Lemon McMillian

Thank you for posting this insight into the character of Mr. Romney. It says a lot that you took your time to do this. We rarely hear anything good about the Romney’s. We do hear a lot about how rich they are and how they can not relate to those of us not in the upper brackets. Again thank you for sharing.

Thank you for writing this, I am a Baptist, and at first I worried about voting for a Morman, but I have gained a lot of respect, for this gentle man, and his sweet wife. I hope Mitt Romney, wins, I pray for him to win ! But we are fighting some very evil people, who cheated in 2008, and they are at it agine !!! If we lose this election, I will still love Mitt and Ann Romney ! Sincerely, Elwanda Aubrey Iskenderian

This man is the one Patriotic American who can and will turn this country around. He loves this country, his family and God. America nees Mitt Romney to lead us back where we were before the muslim took over!!!

  • FLFaith

Thank you for sharing this story about Gov. Romney. I am worried sick that the American people will not wake up to what our current “president” is & what damage he has done to our wonderful country. Mitt Romney sounds like the kind of AMERICAN I want in the White House, not some forged birth certificate person no one knows much about!

  • http://www.facebook.com/lorena.brooks.7 Lorena Brooks

What a beautiful story and insight to the humble man and a man of character that Mitt Romney truly is!! This is what we Americans are looking for in our President!!!

  • http://twitter.com/highlander_m M Harris

I am very glad to have read this. When Mitt and Ann were interviewed at their vacation home some weeks ago, one thing stood out and that was that the Romney’s take care of things themselves. Especially when one of his son’s should how Mitt fixed a problem with the kitchen light himself and did not call a repair man. Your letter about Mitt confirmed what I thought of Mitt. In that he and his family do relate and understand the American family. I also believe he understand ALL AMERICANS and their needs. I have been supporting Mitt Romney for quit awhile now. In my heart I know he is the man that will turn America around and put us back on the Right Track to a better tomorrow!!!! Romney/Ryan 2012!!!! It will be so!

    Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to write this story about Mitt Romney. He was not my first choice but as it turns out I feel he just may be the best man for the job of turning our country around and back in the right direction. There is so much hate and derision coming from the other party that I am afraid. Mitt is a good and honorable man and I trust him and I am so happy that he chose Paul Ryan as his running mate because I get the impression that he is also a good and honorable man. We need the respect back in the White House that good and honorable men can bring.

Sorry, but I’m not gonna start making inferences about a total stranger’s character based on the fact that he has a worn pair of ski gloves, rented a moving van or had a legal stash of alcohol in his house. Besides, I don’t think anybody in their right mind seriously questions that he’s “a nice guy” or at least personable.
i.m.o. people need to focus on the essential and only that: “Are Mitt Romney’s plans for the economy what the country needs *at this time,* or not.” All else is entertainment.

    • Cooki Harmon

Whether or not Mitt’s plans for the economy are what the Country needs “at this time” is really not the issue. The issue is Obama’s way is totally off course and another 4 years would destroy us. Mitt knows business, he didn’t make his money by being stupid, Obama just takes everyone elses money. I believe that at this time we need someone of Mitt’s character and fiscal knowledge to bring us from the edge of the Obama cliff.

    • http://www.facebook.com/babette.aben.cohen Elizabeth Cohen

You are totally wrong Timothy, a man’s character can not be known unless you see him in his own environment. He could be the kindest, sweetest, most caring guy on the planet, and behind closed doors he could be a jerk. I don’t think you understand, truly, that your character is priceless, once you dirty it, it’s hard to clean. Bill Clinton comes to mind. So, if you want to know if the man will run this country properly, watch him in his own home.

      • Combatvet

Elizabeth spot on……….Timmy doesn’t seem to have an issue with what’s currently occupying our sacred White House. A de-facto CNC who has totally undermined our way of life, our values, our beliefs, our very existence, while pushing alternate perverse lifestyles, subverting our Constitutional rights at every turn and behaving like no other President in American history, because he is not one of us. Probably the most heinous program but just one of an incalculable number, is the brainwashing going on in our school system and the illicit programing of our youth. Our history is lost in our schools, our religious freedom has been driven out of our schools except the religion of hate, Islam( which means submission) and planned parenthood which is preached to minors. While our history as a nation is revised to demonize America, our founding documents and our founding fathers. Our kids, the great majority. graduate functionally illiterate and our educational system is ranked the lowest of any industrialized nation and beyond! Timothy, Elizabeth. is a mole but one represented as benign. You were not fooled! Comparing Romney to what is occupying our White House is utter insanity. Romney is light years more competent, more patriotic, more decent, has more leadership experience and business sense and loves America without question than, as Clint Eastwood so aptly stated, than the empty chair leading our nation to the brink of disaster. The Emperor truly has no clothes!

    • lolajmay

“AT THIS TIME” I feel sorry for you. You nit-picked a pair of gloves out of that story and tha’ts all you got (moving van, alcohol). Have you been away, and have not heard of all the success he has had in business? He took no salary as governor, or as Olympics leader, he actually takes himself and helps people in need. Paid for 7000 pints of milk (every week) for two years, had it delivered to a VA hospital, and wouldn’t let the delivery man tell who the donor was. Do you think Obama would do anything even close to this? Obama had no business experience, spent little time in the Senate (too busy campaigning, or going to “down low club” or “Man Country” in Chicago, do a search on that online). AT THIS TIME reminds me of “YOU DIDN’T BUILD THAT”! What we look for is a WHOLE PACKAGE of honor, caring, intelligence, common sense, willing to learn and listen. So you need to do some RESEARCH, LISTENING, and LEARNING. It would be good to do this before the election in November; Obama’s PLANS are to take us down; how do you like those plans?

      • karenm

Excellent lolajmay- more great and little knows insignts that the American people need to hear about our next President.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1643635566 Sylvia DaSilva

OK, so then you’re willing to go with a Marxist, narcissistic, “community organizer” with 2 years experience in the Senate as his ‘resume’ for another 4 years, instead of a successful business man who was Governor of MA? Hmmmm, doesn’t seem like rocket science to me…..
Mitt is not my first choice, but with the selection of Ryan as VP, this is the ONLY choice come this election in mho. Please do go see the movie “2016″. I think you will find it enlightening, and will solidify your choice in the voting booth.

      • halfpintdynamite

        I agree 1 million percent.

    • karenm

Timothy- Mitt Ronmey needed to do more to show us his personality because he has been bashed so badly by the Obama campaign. He has lived his life being a good, decent, family oriented, hard working and God loving man and did so many things for others because that is how he has always lived- he did not flaunt his actions for political gain because that is not who he is or why he has done what he has done. He has to count on people like these and on his wife Ann and others who know him to tell us who he is because we do need to know and undersatand the man before we can determine whether he is genuine and whether his policies will meet our desperate needs. I believe he is and they will. And for the life of me I can’t understand why the Democrats and the media seem to hate that he is a successful businessman. Would we like someone who could not operate a business to run our country?Running businesses require lots of difficult decisions and hopefully results in making a profit for your employees and yourself. He should not have to apologize for being successful. He is very intelligent. He did not do anything earth shattering as MA Governor but did not do anything negative either. In fact from 2003-2006 under Romney, MA employed more of its working age citizens than 32 other states and as more entered the workforce the unemployment numbers continued to drop not rise. Romney inherited a loss of 40,0000 manufacturing jobs but this loss did not continue and manufacturing jobs creation again under his policies. He also created the Adams scholarship which my children, and relatives children have been able to take advantage of. The get good grades an receive money toward college tuition
      - not handed to them but earned. Romney IS who we need as President.

    • Combatvet

Let me reverse your question and ask you if Barry Soetoro Hussein Dunham Obama, Obama there are a billion Osamas plans for the economy what the country needs? You can’t be serious! My dog would do a better job. Romney in his sleep will do a better job. Among other issues, we have accumulated more debt under this Muslim plant than all the Presidents through G.W. Bush combined………in less than four years!! Our foreign policy is in tatters, our military is in shambles, the soldiers despise him because they know he hates the military. Our Navy is at WW1 levels, our Air Force fighter inventory is at all time lows, our national defense is on life support with our nuclear deterrent at it’s lowest point in decades, our allies thrown under the bus along with Israel in favor of extremist Muslim terrorist nations, our debt hurtling us into the dustbin of history, all our economic indicators are below depression levels, massive unemployment, the greatest number of food stamp recipients in our history, the number of people in poverty at it’s highest level since the great depression and you have the temerity to ask what Romney’s plans are?

Your condescending approach isn’t entertaining and what our nation needs at this time is a total overhaul, that’s the essential and please, you did make inferences Timmy and that’s the problem.

  • http://www.facebook.com/babette.aben.cohen Elizabeth Cohen

This really is a wonderful insight to the man who WILL be our president. I have such faith that G-d wants this man in office. I am Jewish, I believe that Jesus is Messiah, and I believe that we need a man who loves G-d in the white house. I know he won’t shove it down our throats, why because G-d wants you to come to Him willingly, not by force. It is the liberal media that wants to fuel the fire my shoving those lies down our throats. What they don’t realize is that once their buddy is back in the house, they will be forced to do what he wants them to do. WAKE UP AMERICA

    • http://twitter.com/CatherineBarre4 Catherine Barrett

I agree .. I think this is the right man at the right time .. and sent with the divine hand of G-d to save America … Prayer people we need lots and lots of prayer and work to get this man of character leading the country. Plus Ann will make a wonderful FIRST LADY!

Thank you for the information on how Mitt Romney lives and takes care of his home like an average middle class person. I hope everyone will take the time to go see the movie 1216 which is in theater’s everywhere. Its about where our now leader of our free USA and where he wants to take our great Country after the next election. The movie is not in ad’s on the TV, but the movie is showing everywhere.

    • halfpintdynamite

The movie is 2016, and everyone should see it, regardless of their political party. It is an eye opener.

Someone needs to share this with the media! Could someone please send it to the Salt Lake Tribune/Deseret News to print? I know it will be a difficult sell nationally. Most of the media can’t see past the induced haze of “hope and change.” We need to work together until Election Day.

I am very proud of Mitt Romney and pray he wins the election. It wasn’t until recently I discovered he and I descend from the same pioneer family. Truly, as Americans, we all have more in common than folks recognize; especially when you consider the shared deep history of our families as founding Americans.

Many of the N.E. colonial Yankees of the 19th century were Baptists. As families migrated west into the wilderness of the Connecticut Western Reserve, they joined congregations that reflected their faith and values. One such congregation – the Campbellites – were deigned as “Christian Baptists” by their founder Alexander Campbell in 1826. He was originally from Ireland and a Presbyterian. One of Mormonism’s staunchest early advocates, and a minister of Campbell’s theology was Sidney Rigdon. He encouraged his congregation to join the early Latter-day Saints movement. At the time, the combined theologies, apparently nurtured the spiritual needs of our ancestors.

We need to bring Christian values back to our nation. In my opinion, Mitt is the man for the job. This is my web site if anyone is interested in my research. http://paintedskies.intuitwebsites.com/historicalresearch.html

Great article. I do know that the Mormon religion does view Christ differently than a Christain-fact in their Book of Mormon. But I do not view his presidency as being any more of a threat because he is a Mormon than many candidates who also have claimed to be Christain. Many of them are just religious. I believe as a family they do represent a family life, husband, wife, mother, father, children. I do believe Mr. Romney is a better choice but I am not sure he can get the votes from the groups that are anti-what America stands for. Thank you

Mitt Romney was not my first choice for the Republican Presidential candidate but not for the reasons anyone would think. I know him to be a good and honorable man, intelligent beyond belief and capable of doing what needs to be done to get this nation back on track. My first choice was Donald Trump because Mr. Trump has the inclination and ability to tell it like it is and fight the Obama “Machine”. The reason Mitt is not my first choice is because cause he’s just too nice, too descent and he doesn’t deserve the mud slinging that is being thrown his way. My heart literally breaks every time I see one of the liberal ads spreading lies and trying my make him look like some hoity toity rich jerk just out to help his rich buddies. That is SO not true. I just can’t wait for this campaign mess to be over so that Romney’s can get on with the business of putting our nation right again. God bless Mitt and Ann and their wonderful family.

    Here’s a more recent update on Romney’s home of 20 years…

    Belmont, Mass., mansion

According to property records, Romney and his family bought the
seven-bedroom, 6.5-bath home in Belmont in 1989 — five years after
Romney founded investment firm Bain Capital. The Romneys’ home sold for $3.5 million in 2009. That’s 293% more than the 1989 purchase price of $890,000.

Situated on 2.4 acres and within a 25-minute drive of downtown
Boston, the 6,434-square-foot Colonial was an ideal home base for
Romney, his wife Ann and their five sons for 20 years.

  • Sandra Carson

I have left a message on my FB acct God Bless these people to recognize how wonderful this family is. I am not a mormon but do pick people on how they treat others and I would feel blessed to be a friend of the Romneys.

  • Seek the Truth

Check the facts for yourself. Read the speeches made by both men, read the ‘you didn’t build that speech’, look into the numbers checked by bipartisan/non-partisan organizations. You’ll find you’ve been tricked by Mitt Romney, and probably by Fox news. Character and integrity must be earned.

As for your comments regarding the president, Obama is a progressive Christian. He has attended the Trinity United Church of Christ for 20 years, check out http://christianity.about.com/od/religionpolitics/p/obamafaithss.htm.

Even if he was Muslim, in America one of our core AMERICAN values is freedom of religion. It’s in the constitution that guarantees your rights in this country, if you’re not familiar with the document, I encourage you to read it.

    • Combatvet

You wouldn’t know integrity if it slammed into your face. You slander Mr. Romney but praise an anti-American impostor who stole his way into the White House? Romney is a very decent man, a very successful businessman, a man of character, faith and true American values, who considers our founding documents the foundation of our Republic. One of our core values, you mean the attack on Christianity by our government throughout America, are you kidding me. Try the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th, among other amendments that this Muslim plant has violated with recklessness. He referred to the Constitution as no longer valid, outdated. He actively and openly promotes divisiveness by accusing everyone who disagrees with him a racist! Oh, the bit about Barry being a progressive Christian attending an anti-American hate church, where the words God Damn America were shouted to the rooftops for the supposed 20 years he attended but claimed he never heard de-facto Rev, Wright utter those words. Then, when he was illegally sworn in and elected by massive election fraud, your boy Barry threw Wright under the bus as he did to his gay boyfriends, Except in their case they committed suicide with shots to the back of their heads, neat trick………….need I go on. He put the Muslim brotherhood into power in two nations that were no longer a threat to America and has provided access to top secret info to the Muslim brotherhood sycophants he has surrounding him in the White House and in active roles in the DOJ. Do us all a favor and crawl back under your rock.
To other posters on here, sorry for the diatribe but I’m tired of these mentally disturbed shills soiling our blogs with their lies and vitriol. To my brothers in the military, hoorah, I’ve got your six!

  • Mary Radogna

Mitt Romney is the right man for the job. How could you possibly vote for a man who believes in killing babies and gay marriage. Obama is evil.

Thanks for sharing this! Few people understand the life of an LDS missionary, especially in a foreign country. LDS missionaries spend most of the time walking the streets of all sections of a city or town. They see and teach people of all walks of life and of all classes. They are often threatened with their life, spit on, beaten up, robbed and called every name in the book. Most complete their two year commitment despite all these things. Most come back different then before they went out to serve their missions. One young man was the new hope for a college football program as their heir apparent quarterback, when he came back he stated, “Football just isn’t that important anymore.” Mitt Romney’s mission to France was his awakening to the average man and the down in spirit people. This must have imprinted itself on his soul!

Then he spent five years as an LDS Bishop, a lay minister, he received to pay for this time. Those in his congregation sought him out to help in all aspects to life, to society. He counseled those with means and those who had nothing. He counseled those in spiritual dispare and those in financial difficulties. He counseled newly weds and those celebrating their 50th anniversary. My point is his experience is deep and wide in the human experience.

He understands business, and this country is a very big business in need of pruning for it is on the edge of a deep hole! He will not impose his beliefs on society, but I believe that his belief in GOD is what a leader of this country must have. Not just in words but in actions. The Founding Father’s stated that this country and it’s constitution if good only for a people of faith. America needs an example at the top as a beacon to not only the youth of America and its society, but to all the world. I just don’t think the media will be reporting about how he “didn’t inhale,” or “define sex.” Mitt Romney is such a person, and supported by the same type of wife.

I pray that he will be the next president. That he will listen to that still small voice of inspiration and make this country the beacon to the world of goodness, faith, & liberty.

The “media” are generally Obama’s lap-dogs and NOT journalists as they used to be. They will not tell the truth…only their version of it. They are generally Obama supporters and that is what drives them to spout the viscous lies that we see them “report”. America deserves to KNOW the TRUTH about Gov Romney as quickly as possible, and I believe that since the media will not do their job, we are the only ones that that can do that. Please pass this onto everyone that you know and everyone especially that is currently an Obama supporter. We know that this will likely not change their beliefs, but at least we can try our best. THIS is the American way. God bless the USA, our troops, and especially Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, and their families!!! They are trying to do the right thing for the right reasons…NOT for power and privilege and other personal reasons as Obama is doing. Please help in this efforts!!! Thank you and God bless you in your efforts!!

I too, vote for the person that I believe I can trust to get the job done. I trust this man. I know he will have difficult times because of the negative atmosphere in Washington and the fact that most politians are out for themselves, so finding the cooperation needed will be a major challenge, but as you say, he will roll up his sleeves and get the job done.
I am a Christian and have had many Morman friends. They were truely treasured because of thier dedication, ethics, and morals. I would be proud to have the Romney’s as friends and even more proud to say they are the First Family.
Thank you for writing about the family in such a simple manner that everyone surely will understand.

Thank you for this. It is just as I suspected… Mitt Romney is the real deal.

To any Christian concerned about voting for a “Mormon”, please do not concern yourself. I am not Mormon, but have worked off and on for years in Salt Lake City, side by side with many devout members of the LDS church. I can’t say I know or understand all about their beliefs, but I can say that practically all who I have met have been honest, honorable and never once tried to push their beliefs on me when the differences arose. I will vote for Mitt Romney without hesitation.

Very interesting article, I hope that it is the truth. I have liked the Romneys every since I saw an article about Mrs. Romney and their extended family. I am also a Southern Baptist and had slight concerns about voting for a Morman, but then I remembered the Kennedy elections in 1960 and how people were against JFK because he was a Catholic. I have learned to be more tolerant of others because of those memories. I am praying that the Lord will open the American voters minds and hearts so that we get a strong, Christian man to lead this great country of ours back to the America of our fathers.

There are those who think that, because he is wealthy, he’s out of touch. On the contrary, he is wealthy because he IS in touch…..no huge fancy house in an exclusive, private area, moderate furnishings in his home, fixing gloves with duct tape instead of buying new – all those things save $$, hence more to invest and make $$. Like Dave Ramsey says, “Live like no else so you can live like no one else.” Sounds to me this is exactly what he’s done for a lot of years, and those that hate are just jealous.

OMG! Worn out ski gloves? The horror. I suppose the odds are pretty good of having a “modest” home when you own several of them.

  • Black_N_Blessed

Never judge a bookie by his cover. People who sell homes most always put their best foot forward. A few home remnants and an hour with a seller doesn’t make a good guage of a lifetime of decision making. This couple saw what buyers are supposed to see from sellers. I’ve never seen a house for sale in disarray or pompously furnished. I have always seen them modestly decorated “for sale.” This couple saw a ‘house for sale’ and is making assumptions about how those who lived there made it a ‘home.’ How can people be so naive, or worse, think the rest of us are? No one is buying this bull but dumbarses. What comes out of Romney’s mouth is what’s in his heart and mind. Obama 2012!

Anyone is better than Obama at this point but I do think that the Romneys love America unlike the Obama’s.
