Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, gave an unflinching review Sunday of his unsuccessful campaign, admitting his shortcomings and disappointments but vowing to remain a force in American politics.

“It kills me not to be there, not to be in the White House doing what needs to be done,” Romney told “Fox News Sunday” in his first interview with wife Ann after the election. “It’s hard.”

In the wide-ranging interview, Romney and his wife also talked about everything from campaign missteps to heartbreaking Election night results to how President Obama has led the country so far in his second term.

“The president is out campaigning to the American people, doing rallies around the country, flying around the country and berating Republicans and blaming and pointing,” Romney said. “That causes the Republicans to retrench and to put up a wall and to fight back.”

How we needed your common sense, intelligent, experienced approach to today’s problems, Governor Romney!! I am heartsick that you aren’t in the WH because I know America and Americans would be so much better off with you at the helm.fixing things instead of making even more problems that are ruining America as we once knew it. I was heartsick to hear you aren’t running again. You didn’t just “loose” the race – America lost! God bless you and your always..(and PLEASE consider running again! America needs you; we need you and we want you to be our President. You and your lovely wife would make us so proud and we know in our hearts that you would lead us in the direction we should and NEED to go!)

Such a down to earth person, so very sorry that he lost the campaign, we really needed him. It a shame that others don’t feel the same, maybe our country would be in a better place. God bless you Mr. Romney for all you have done..

I am so sorry that you are not our president. You were just what our country needed. As each day passes by I feel more and more helpless. The decisions being made by our government are so wrong. It’s almost like they want our country to fail. Many many Americans love you and your family and are in deep regret for your loss. Our country would have been so much better off if you were president. Please know you are loved and respected by thousands, possibly millions of Americans. Never ever stop trying to help America in whatever way you can.May God bless you and your family.

For some reason; the majority of the people have put on blinders and have stuck their heads in the sand to hide from reality with hopes that the current administration will take care of them and do what needs to be done. They don’t want to be bothered with current affairs just showbiz and campaigning and what appears to look good. The truth is we are in trouble as a nation and going further in the wrong direction. Governor Romney makes a whole lot of common sense that the people as a whole are lacking and are not willing to open up too. Heads in the sand gets tails shot off!
